Apple has confirmed its second October launch event. Press invites set it for Wednesday, October 28, at 10 a.m. PT in Los Angeles, under the tagline Pro and tell.
The confirmation came from Apple itself. Greg Joswiak teased the event in the In the Loop section of Apple’s Newsroom. His post reads: “Can’t wait to pro and tell next week.” According to 9to5Mac, the invite artwork was sent to the press and also posted on social media by Joswiak.

That settles what was still a report last week. When we covered the October 28 invites on October 15, Apple had not confirmed anything. An earlier report had also pointed to October 27, a date that no longer holds.
Apple October 28 event: start time in your time zone
The US is still on daylight saving time on October 28, so the event starts at:
- Pacific: 10 a.m. PT, Wednesday, October 28
- Eastern: 1 p.m. ET, October 28
- UTC: 17:00, October 28
- India: 10:30 p.m. IST, October 28
- China: 1 a.m. Beijing time, Thursday, October 29
Apple’s second launch this month
This is Apple’s second event in October. The first was the October 13 Welcome home launch in New York. That one brought the HomeView smart display, a HomePod mini 2 and a new Apple TV 4K.
The Los Angeles event may not be a standard keynote. MacRumors says media are invited to an in-person experience instead. It expects press releases at 10 a.m. PT, followed by hands-on time for reporters. That is MacRumors’ expectation, not something Apple has said.
What Apple might announce (reported, not confirmed)
Apple has not published a product list, prices or availability. The line-up below comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, via 9to5Mac. Treat all of it as rumor until Apple announces it.
- iPad mini (rumored): an OLED screen, a revamped speaker system and a relocated FaceTime camera
- 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro (rumored): touchscreen OLED displays, Dynamic Island, M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and a reportedly much lighter build
- M6 iMac and entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro (rumored): new M6 chips in designs that reportedly look like the current models
Gurman also says the new products could launch on Friday, November 6. Apple hasn’t confirmed that date.
Should you wait to buy?
If you were about to buy an iPad mini, the reported refresh is about a week away. Apple will reveal its actual line-up and prices on October 28. Holding off for eight days lets you judge whether the new model is worth its price before you spend.
