Stable One UI 9, Samsung’s Android 17 update, has now reached phones outside South Korea. As of October 19, reports show it arriving on the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra in Europe. The Galaxy A37 and A27 are also getting it in Europe, and the Galaxy A56 is rolling out with the Middle East first.
Three days ago, we reported the stable build starting in Korea, and no other market had it yet. If you own one of these phones in Europe or the Middle East, it is worth checking Settings now.

Galaxy phones getting stable One UI 9 outside Korea
Two Samsung-focused outlets, SamMobile and GalaxyClub, are tracking this wave. Here is what each phone is getting so far.
Galaxy S series
- Galaxy S23: Europe appears to be the first region, per SamMobile. Download is 516.69MB.
- Galaxy S23+: same European rollout as the S23.
- Galaxy S23 Ultra: same European rollout as the S23.
Galaxy A series
- Galaxy A56: rolling out globally, starting in the Middle East. Firmware A566BXXUEDZJ1, 2,314.37MB.
- Galaxy A37: reached Korea last week, now in Europe among the first regions. Firmware A376BXXU5BZI6.
- Galaxy A27: reached Korea last week, now spreading further with Europe among the first. Firmware A276BXXU3BZIF.
Not in this wave yet
As of October 19, the reports only cover Europe and the Middle East. Our full list of Galaxy phones and tablets expected to get One UI 9 covers the other models.
The Galaxy S23 rollout, in detail
SamMobile says the update appears to reach S23 units enrolled in the beta first. It expects non-beta phones and more countries to follow within hours. GalaxyClub reports it arriving today in the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe.
The S23 launched in February 2023 on One UI 5.1 with four OS upgrades promised. That makes One UI 9 most likely its last major Android upgrade.
Galaxy A37 has another upgrade to come
The Galaxy A37 launched in March 2026 on One UI 8.5 with six years of updates. Per SamMobile, that means it is also in line for One UI 9.5.
What One UI 9 changes
Across its four rollout reports, SamMobile lists the same headline changes. GalaxyClub adds a few more.
- Quick Panel: more ways to customise it.
- Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes: enhancements to both.
- Accessibility: a set of improvements.
- Location privacy indicator: a blue icon or dot appears when an app requests your location, per GalaxyClub.
- Warranty and service menu: new, per GalaxyClub.
- Secure lock: extra options, per GalaxyClub.
What A-series owners don’t get
The A-series phones get the OS upgrade without One UI 9’s extra Galaxy AI features. SamMobile says those are exclusive to the Galaxy Z, S and Tab S lines. We broke down which Galaxy AI features land on which phones earlier.
GalaxyClub also reports that the A27 and A37 lose features in Gallery. They get no Google integration in Gallery, and OneDrive sync is gone from the app. Owners who relied on Gallery’s OneDrive backup will now have to set up sync manually in a cloud app of their choice.
That is a real loss for anyone who never thought about their photo backups. Check that your photos are still syncing after you update.
Security patch levels
According to GalaxyClub, the S23 series and A56 get the October security patch. The A27 and A37 ship this major upgrade on the older September patch. On the A56, the October patch arrives as a second update straight after the upgrade.
How to check for One UI 9
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install on the S23 series, or Check for updates on the A-series phones.
Samsung stages these rollouts, so the update may not show up on every phone at once. As of October 19, no Samsung announcement of this wave had been found. Treat the regions above as reported rollouts, not an official schedule.
