OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will launch in China on October 12, 2026. OnePlus China president Li Jie Louis announced the date at the OnePlus Gaming Conference. Wider international availability, India included, is expected to follow in November.

For readers in the US and Europe, the date changes nothing. OnePlus has already withdrawn from both markets, so there is no official route to this phone there.
OnePlus 16 availability
China gets the phone first, on October 12. OnePlus has not announced an India date, and November is the expectation rather than a commitment from the company.
India buyers are therefore waiting weeks rather than months, with a launch expected at the end of it. US and European buyers are in a different position entirely. Importing is the only path, and it carries the usual costs. There is no local warranty, no OEM service, and band support may not match your carrier. Grey-market pricing also tends to sit well above the home-market figure.
It is worth being precise about what the market exit does and does not mean. OnePlus has stopped selling new phones in those regions, which is a commercial decision. It is not evidence that the company is winding down, and this launch is the proof of that.
Reported specifications
None of the hardware below has been confirmed by OnePlus for international markets, and specs can differ by region:
- Software — ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, out of the box.
- Chipset — Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
- Display refresh rate — 165Hz as standard, rising to 185Hz in a dedicated gaming mode.
The refresh-rate figures explain why the date came out at a gaming conference. Whether a 185Hz mode is useful depends on which titles can actually feed it that many frames. OnePlus has not detailed that. The battery is already official, and we covered the 9,000mAh cell when OnePlus confirmed it.
What to watch next
The China event on October 12 should settle pricing, the full spec sheet and the colour options. India details usually follow a few weeks later, often with a different memory and storage mix. Until OnePlus names an India date, treat November as a forecast and not a plan you can book around.
