Samsung has made the Galaxy Tab S12 series official, and the lineup arrives in just two sizes. The company announced the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, both running MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. There is no entry-level Galaxy Tab S12 in the announcement. That makes the 12.6-inch Plus model the cheapest way into this generation. Sales begin on October 7 in Grey and Silver.
androidpure tracked Tab S12 leaks through August and September, so the shape of this launch is familiar. What is new today is that Samsung has committed to it, prices included.
The two-model structure matters more than a spec bump. Every device Samsung showed here sits in flagship territory. Buyers who wanted a smaller, cheaper Tab S12 have no in-line option this cycle.
Samsung frames the series around productivity and on-device AI. Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience business, put it this way:

Galaxy Tab S12 Pricing and Availability
Samsung’s own press release does not list prices. SamMobile reports the Galaxy Tab S12+ starting at $1,199 in the US, £1,199 in the UK and €1,329 in Europe. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at $1,399, £1,399 and €1,569 respectively.
Those are starting figures for the base storage configurations. Both tablets go on sale October 7, with Grey and Silver as the launch colours. Samsung has not announced India pricing alongside the global release.
Galaxy Tab S12 Specifications
The two tablets share a chip, a software build and an update commitment. They differ on screen size, memory ceiling, battery capacity and wireless standards. Samsung says the Ultra at 5.1mm is its thinnest Galaxy Tab to date.
Both models ship with Android 17 and One UI 9. Samsung promises up to seven OS and security updates. Note that the company phrases this as an update count, not a number of years.

Software and AI Features
Multi Window now splits the screen into up to three sections. Note Assist returns, and Samsung Browser can summarise a page in context. Gemini is built in, and Samsung is bundling a six-month Google AI Pro trial.
Samsung also bundles third-party app trials it values at roughly $600. The list covers:
- Photoshop, Notability and Goodnotes
- LumaFusion, Notion and Clip Studio Paint
- MyScript, Noteshelf 3 and ArcSite
Read that $600 figure carefully. These are trials, not licences. The headline value assumes you would otherwise have paid full subscription price for all nine apps.
On performance, Samsung claims the Tab S12 Ultra’s NPU is 61 percent faster than the Tab S11 Ultra’s. The company puts the CPU gain at 19 percent and the GPU gain at 17 percent. Those are Samsung’s own figures, not independently tested numbers. A 3D vapour chamber handles cooling.
