Adobe Premiere’s mobile video editor is now available on Android, months after the same app debuted on iPhone in late 2025. Adobe announced the Android release on September 22, 2026. The core editor is free, there is no forced login, and exports arrive without a watermark. Adobe also says the app runs without ads or upgrade prompts.
Pricing and availability
Premiere mobile is on the Google Play Store now, free to download. Adobe says the free app covers all the video editing essentials. Paid upgrades are available for additional generative credits and storage. Editing itself costs nothing, and heavy use of the AI tools is the part with a price attached.
You do not need a Creative Cloud subscription to use the app, as 9to5Google confirms. Check the free credit allowance inside the app before you build a workflow around the generative features.
Adobe framed the launch in its own announcement, credited to Mike Polner:
We’re excited to bring Premiere mobile to millions more creators around the world and we can’t wait to see what you create.
Adobe Premiere on Android: requirements and features
The compatibility bar is the first thing to check. Everything past that is a fairly complete editing toolkit for a phone.
- Compatibility: Android 13 or later, with a minimum of 5GB of RAM.
- Timeline: multi-track editing covering video, music, text and effects, with layering.
- Export: up to 4K resolution.
- No friction: no forced login, no watermark on exports, and no ads.
- Generative AI: Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and Generate Sound Effects, all built on Adobe’s Firefly platform.
Adobe lists more features as still to come. Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection and continued editing on Premiere desktop are all named in the announcement.
Who this leaves out
That 5GB RAM floor is worth reading twice. It rules out entry-level Android phones that ship with 4GB of RAM. Free is only free if your phone clears the bar.
For everyone else, this is one of the more generous free editors on Android. Adobe has been busy on the platform, as our earlier Lightroom and Pixel raw photos post covered. The generative credits are the meter to watch, not the download button.
