Motorola Confirms Signature 27 Reveal Date: September 22

Motorola has confirmed it will unveil the Signature 27, its next flagship phone, on September 22, the same day Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit opens in Hawaii. The date came from a teaser Motorola itself posted, pairing the phone’s reveal with the chipmaker’s event.

The pairing is a strong hint at what’s inside. Qualcomm is widely expected to introduce its next flagship mobile chip at the Summit, likely called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The event runs September 22 through 24. Motorola’s own teaser only ties the Signature 27 to Snapdragon generally, without naming a specific chip, so the exact silicon stays unconfirmed until launch day.

What’s Actually Confirmed vs. What’s a Leak

Motorola’s teaser video shows a device with a fabric-like rear panel, a camera module carrying a Dolby Vision badge, and a large primary lens. That much comes directly from the company’s own footage.

Beyond that, the details get thinner and less official. GSMArena and other outlets reported the phone would launch in two Pantone colorways, Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive. That detail cites marketing materials, not a Motorola statement. Android Authority’s coverage of the same teaser explicitly notes that Motorola has not confirmed specific colors. Camera specs and India pricing floated by some outlets also trace back to unverified leaks, not anything Motorola has published. Treat those as rumor until the September 22 event confirms them.

What is fact: the current Motorola Signature launched in January 2026 as an ultra-thin, premium-tier phone with a 6.8-inch display. A successor is arriving barely nine months later, timed to Qualcomm’s next flagship silicon. That points to Motorola trying to compete more directly with Samsung and Apple’s annual refresh cadence, rather than sticking to a longer product cycle.

Why the Snapdragon Timing Matters

Phones that launch alongside or just after a new Snapdragon Summit chip reveal often become the first commercially available devices running that silicon. That’s a marketing advantage OEMs compete hard for. If the Signature 27 ships with whatever Qualcomm unveils on September 22, Motorola would gain that edge first. It would be racing Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus for the same “first to market” claim.

Nothing about the Signature 27’s price or global availability has been confirmed yet. Given the current Signature line’s premium positioning, a launch price well above Motorola’s mainstream Edge and G-series phones is the safe assumption. That’s inference, though, not a Motorola-sourced figure. The unveiling itself, September 22, is the only date on record.
