itel has added a new budget phone to its India lineup: the itel A300C, priced at Rs. 10,999 and built around a 6,000mAh battery rather than a headline chipset or camera. The 4G phone runs Android 16 Go Edition and leans heavily on battery size and physical durability to stand out at this price.

What’s Missing at This Price
The A300C runs on 4G only, with no 5G support, and ships on Android 16 Go Edition rather than the full version of Android. Go Edition is a stripped-down build meant for lower-RAM devices, which limits which apps run smoothly and how much multitasking the phone can handle regardless of the “12GB effective RAM” marketing figure — that number includes storage borrowed as virtual memory, not physical RAM, and virtual RAM is markedly slower than the real thing. At Rs. 10,999 in a market where several rivals now bundle 5G at similar or lower prices, itel is betting that battery life and a MIL-STD-810H durability badge matter more to its target buyer than network speed or a full Android build.
itel is positioning the phone for what it calls “value-first Bharat buyers.”
“In today’s market, consumers shouldn’t have to compromise on reliability or capability just because they are buying an affordable device. We designed the A300C around the everyday realities of value-first Bharat buyers who want a smartphone that keeps up with their lives, whether for work, learning, entertainment, or staying connected.”

Pricing and Availability
The itel A300C is priced at Rs. 10,999 and is rolling out across both online retail platforms and general trade stores. itel says it’s backed by a retail network of over 1.3 lakh outlets and 1,000 service centers across India, which matters more for a phone at this price point than it would for a flagship, since budget buyers are more likely to need in-person repairs than to use courier-based service.
