vivo X300 E pre-orders open in China from 4,799 yuan

vivo has opened pre-orders for the vivo X300 E in China, with pre-sale going live on 27 July at 09:00 local time and pricing starting at 4,799 yuan. vivo did not stage a standalone launch event for it, according to Chinese reports — the reservation page simply flipped over to pre-sale. The headline pitch is a compact 6.59-inch body that still carries a 7,200mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and a Zeiss-tuned 50MP telephoto, which is an unusually complete flagship loadout for a phone that undercuts the X300 series proper.

vivo X300 E price and availability

Two configurations are listed, both with 12GB of RAM:

  • 12GB + 256GB — 4,799 yuan (roughly $670 / €575 at current rates)
  • 12GB + 512GB — 5,299 yuan (roughly $740 / €635)

The prices come from Chinese media reporting on the pre-sale rather than a price banner on vivo’s own product page, so treat the exact figures as reported rather than as a line vivo has published itself in English. What vivo has confirmed on its own channels is the timing: reservations opened on 20 July and pre-sale went live at 09:00 on 27 July.

Three colours are offered — Sunlight Orange, Moonlight White and Midnight Black. This is a China launch. vivo has said nothing about India, Europe or any other market for the X300 E, and the “E” variants in this family have historically stayed regional, so don’t read a global rollout into this yet.

One thing worth flagging for anyone waiting on an international version: chip costs are moving the wrong way. Qualcomm has told customers to expect a double-digit percentage price increase on Snapdragon shipments from September, and memory contract prices have been climbing all year. A phone priced in July does not necessarily stay priced that way when it crosses a border in October.

vivo X300 E specifications

The interesting engineering here is the packaging. vivo has fitted a 7,200mAh cell — bigger than what most 6.8-inch flagships ship with — into a 7.79mm chassis weighing 199.5g, without the bulk that usually implies. The camera hardware is the other half of the argument: a 50MP Zeiss main sensor sits alongside a 50MP Zeiss telephoto rated for 100x digital zoom, which is the part that usually gets cut from a mid-flagship.

  • Display — 6.59-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 5,000 nits local peak brightness
  • Processor — Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (3nm), with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage
  • Rear cameras — 50MP Zeiss main, 50MP Zeiss telephoto with 100x zoom, 8MP ultra-wide
  • Front camera — 50MP Zeiss autofocus
  • Battery and charging — 7,200mAh, 90W wired
  • Build — 7.79mm thick, 199.5g, IP68 and IP69 rated
  • Security and extras — ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, stereo speakers

Two caveats buyers should hold onto. Early carrier-database listings pegged the battery at 7,015mAh and the body at 7.99mm; vivo’s own product page now says 7,200mAh and 7.79mm, so the earlier figures were pre-production. And vivo’s marketing calls the second camera a “super telephoto” rather than a periscope — the 100x number is digital reach, not optical, and should be judged accordingly once reviews land.

What is missing from the sheet is any commitment on software support. vivo has not published an OS-upgrade or security-patch policy for the X300 E alongside the pricing, and for a phone at this price that is the single most useful number a buyer could have been given today.
