Redmi has announced 2 new budget phones in India. Meet the Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 12 4G.
Redmi 12 5G
The Redmi 12 5G is equipped with a 6.79-inches LCD with a Full HD+ resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate (30 / 48 / 60 / 90 Hz). The screen supports 550 nits brightness, has a 1500: 1 contrast ratio, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Full DC Dimming, and SGS low blue light certification. The device runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with an Adreno 613 GPU. It has 4 GB / 6 GB / 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 128 GB / 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The selfie snapper on the Redmi 12 5G is am 8 megapixels lens that has an f/2.2 aperture, and supports 1080p video recording @ 30 fps. The dual camera set up on the real panelof the smartphone consists of a 50 megapixels primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, Phase Detect Autofocus (PDAF), a 2 MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, an LED flash, and supports 1080p video recording @ 30 fps.

The Redmi 12 5G has been priced at Rs. 11,999 for the 4 GB / 128 GB model. The 6 GB / 128 GB version carries a price tag of Rs. 13,499, while the 8 GB / 256 GB variant costs Rs. 15,499.

The Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G will be available for purchase from 12 PM on August 4th through Amazon, Flipkart, Mi.com, and retail stores. Xiaomi is set to announce the Poco M6 Pro 5G this month in India. It is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 12 5G.
