The Android 10 Update for Realme X has the version number RMX1901EX_11_C.01, while the Realme 5 update’s version number is RMX1971EX_11_C.01.

What’s new in the Android 10 Update for Realme X and Realme 5 Pro with Realme UI

The update to Realme UI is based on ColorOS 7. It has a new interface, one handed mode, and a better Smart Sidebar. The File Console has been replaced by File Manager. The OSIE Visual Effect and No Notification Alerts have been removed.

The Realme Ui update supports Split-screen Mode, and you can activate it by dragging an app out of the Smart Sidebar. The sidebar has 2 new settings: “Assistive Ball Opacity” and “Hide Assistive Ball on Fullscreen App”.

Floating Window now supports more apps. You will see a bubble when an app has been opened in floating window from the Smart Sidebar. Tap it to close the window and open the app.

Coming to screenshots, you can now use a 3-Finger Screenshot Gesture. Touch and hold the screen, and then swipe to capture the part of the screen that’s in view. Swiping outwards while holding the screen with 3 fingers will capture a long screenshot. Drag a screenshot preview upwards to share it or downwards to take a long screenshot.

The update adds a new security feature called Random MAC address Generator. When your phone is connected to Wi-Fi networks, a random MAC address is generated to prevent targeted ads thus protecting your privacy.

The Camera app has a new UI with optimizations for recognizing 80 different scenes, better Album UI, Timer UI, sounds.

Quick Settings has been optimized as well, and now has an option to open the calculator in a floating window. Screen recordings can be paused, trimmed, and has a floating window and settings

Other features in the update include an optimized Contacts UI, fuzzy match and search history for the Search Settings, a Dual Mode Music Share in realme Lab, realme Share for sharing files with OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi devices.

The Android 10 Update for Realme X and Realme 5 Pro with Realme UI is rolling out in phases, and should reach all users soon. Keep an eye on the Realme Software Update page for the manual download link to be made available. One thing we observed is that there is a new pre-Android 10 update available on the support page, you’ll need to be on it to get the update.
