The Poco F1 Android Pie Update Open Beta has been released for download. The ROM is based on MIUI 10, specifically MIUI 10 8.11.15.

The news was announced POCO India General Manager, Manmohan, on Twitter today.

Xiaomi has included the Android October Security Patch in this update, which is not the latest one. But, that being said, we think the fact that the Android Pie is more important at this stage, than the November Security Patch.

The Poco F1 Android Pie Update Open Beta is about 1.6GB in size and can be downloaded from the link mentioned below. We recently reported that Xiaomi will be adding support for Widevine L1 DRM for the Poco F1 in MIUI 10 Beta.

Disclaimer:

a. Installing the Android Pie for Poco F1 Open Beta will wipe the data on your device.
b. This is a recovery ROM and NOT a fastboot ROM.

How to install Poco F1 Android Pie Update Open Beta

1. Download the Poco F1 Android Pie Update Open Beta from the official MIUI website.

2. Copy the ROM to your phone’s internal storage.

3. You can update it from MIUI. To do this open the MIUI Updater app and navigate to the folder where the file is stored. The current version is named miui_POCOF1Global_8.11.15_fd06777c5a_9.0.zip.

4. Your device will reboot and begin installing the update. Wait for the process to finish, and welcome to Pie.

According to early reports, the Poco F1 Android Pie Update Open Beta can be flashed on phones which have a locked bootloader. If you have unlocked the bootloader, you will need to download the FASTBOOT version of the ROM and manually install the Android Pie for Poco F1 Open Beta.

The ROM should be stable enough for everyday use, but like with all other devices, we don’t recommend you download it for your daily driver. We expect Xiaomi to transition from the Poco F1 Android Pie Update Open Beta to a Stable version in the near future.
