LastPass, the popular password manager app, has been updated with a new UI.

Material Design is here! But that’s not all, there are more changes under the hood.

This is what the app looked prior to the update:

An important addition to the app is the + (floating action) button, which you can find in the bottom right corner of the vault page. The action button pops-up with options to add a new site, a secure note and a form fill profile. (Check the GIF image featured in this article to see how it works.)

The app has been redesigned to offer a clean and easy to use interface. The “three dot menu” which was in the top right corner is gone, and it has been replaced with the three line “hamburger menu”, which can be found in the top left corner. It is the main navigation screen in the app now, and you can also access it by swiping in from the left edge of the screen.

The drawer has several tabs which allows you to navigate to the app’s Sites, Secure Notes, Form Fill Profiles sections. Premium and Enterprise users will have the Manage Shared Folders option available in the navigation drawer.

You may have noticed from the above image, that the list of options has been shortened, as compared to the old menu. You can find them all under the Settings tab. You can now switch to your folders quickly by tapping the smaller three line menu, in the top right corner.

The app also behaves differently when you open it, apparently users had told LastPass that they would prefer that the app open the vault directly (after logging in, obviously), when the app is opened. And it does that now. You can still use the app as a browser, by tapping on the “Browser” tab, from the navigation drawer.

The company writes in a blog post, that it has fixed many bugs and patched in a number of stability improvements.

LastPass has uploaded a video to showcase the new features in this update:

You can download the app for free from Google Play, but its a 14-day trial. You will need a Premium account to continue using the app after the trial period.
