HTC is updating the Google Play Edition of its flagship devices of 2013 and 2014, the HTC One M7 and M8 to Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The company had already submitted the update to Google for approval.
And it has been given the nod, says Mo Versi, the VP of Product Management at HTC. Versi tweeted that the Android 5.1 OTA Update roll out for the HTC One M7 and One M8 GPE should begin shortly.
There is no word on when the 5.1 update will be available for the unlocked version, and global versions of the HTC One M7 and M8 phones. It is possible that they may be released later, as HTC will need to work on releasing it with their new Sense UI.
