OnePlus releases it’s own version of Android, following the dispute with Cyanogen and Micromax

OnePlus has kept its promise to the fans, by releasing its own version of Android for the OnePlus One.

OnePlus New Android Version 2015

It has been a tough journey for the company in India. The phone was launched on December 2nd, and after a fortnight, it faced the heat of a ban, which prevented OnePlus from selling its devices running on CyanogenMod, in the Country.

On December 24th, the Delhi High Court lifted the ban, which upon hearing the case, judged that “neither company competes nor eats into the territory of the other”, meaning that Micromax and OnePlus were not direct competitors, as the Micromax Yu Yureka retails for Rs. 9,000, while the OnePlus One retails for Rs. 22,000. This resulted in the revoking of the ad-interim injunction. The case will be heard again in January.

Now the new version of Android that OnePlus has released, does not have a name yet, but it is already available for download from the OnePlus forums. It is based on Android Lollipop, and is in alpha stage.  And it has quite a few bugs listed as known issues.

Note: This build is not eligible for OTA updates, so everytime they update it, you will have to flash the update manually. If you are not familiar with flashing custom ROMs, skip it, as it requires you to wipe the device, before flashing the new firmware.
