The Youtube for Android app received an update today, which brought in a Material Design UI and some changes to it’s video filters.
But more importantly, the app now offers offline playback in three Asian Countries.
India, Indonesia and the Philippines are the first Countries to get the offline playback feature. Now the bad news is, yes there is some bad news I am afraid, not all videos have the offline feature. And the ones which you download will only be available for 48 hours.
The good news is the app will offer various resolution options for videos which cab be downloaded. All you have to is tap the offline button, and select an option to download the video, and you can watch it when you are off the grid.
You can find the Offline Menu, from the app’s settings.
There are some basic options in the Offline settings menu, which may come in handy should you run into some issues.
If the offline option isn’t available to you, check the Playstore app on your device, to see if you have the latest version of YouTube.
