Samsung launched its first smart watch Galaxy gear last year, but it has been not a pretty smooth ride for the device. Galaxy Gear has faced issues like limited functionality, incompatibility with major Samsung devices, no compatibility with most android devices, bugs and other issues proved obstacles in its way to gain mainstream access.Most users and reviewers across the world viewed Samsung Galaxy Gear as an unfinished product.
ZNet reports that as per an unnamed industry insider, Samsung is working on “Galaxy Gear 2” with totally different design and flexible OLED display screen roughly of the same size (1.63inches) as that of the existing device.
It also reports that Samsung will most likely unveil ‘Galaxy Gear 2’ in London sometime in March or April.
In our view, unless Samsung makes the smart watch compatible with most of the Android devices and not just Samsung own android smartphones, Galaxy Gear won’t make it to mainstream worldwide success.
