The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be launched in November, according to a leaked report on Chinse website, Weibo.

Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi usually launches its flagship device in June or July, but it will have to wait until the end of the year, if it wants to use the newest chipset from Qualcomm.

The Snapdragon 820 processor, will reportedly be available only November 2015, and it is rumored to be the primary reason in the delay of the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Technical Specifications:

The leaked Mi 5 specifications suggest that the device will flaunt a 5.5-inch Quad HD Display, and will run on 4GB RAM (LPDDR4). It is also touted to come with a fingerprint recognition senor, and a USB type-C port, similar to the iPhone 6.

The Mi 5 reportedly measures just 5.1 mm in thickness, and is expected to come in two storage variants: 16GB and 64 GB.

The main reason for doing so was to incorporate the brand new Snapdragon 820 chipset inside its latest flagship. The chip would be unveiled by the end of the year, which meant that if Xiaomi wanted the Snapdragon 820 inside the Xiaomi Mi5, then it would have to wait till the very end.

The leakster also revealed a few more specs of the upcoming handset, which includes a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM memory, fingerprint recognition, USB type-C port and a thickness of just 5.1mm. There will be two storage variants, namely 16GB and 64GB.

The post has been deleted by the leakster, which suggests it could be the real deal.

Xiaomi Mi 4 vs OnePlus Two?

If the five month wait for the Mi 5 launch is true, Xiaomi runs the risk of losing a considerable amount of users, to OnePlus. The Xiaomi rival is launching its 2015 flagship phone, the OnePlus Two on June 1. The OnePlus Two, will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810.

In the meantime, Xiaomi is rumored to be working on a new variant of its 2014 flagship, the Mi4. The new Mi 4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, and this processor upgrade could prove to be a challenger for the OnePlus Two, at least until the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 5.
