The vivo V80 has launched in India with a 7,200mAh battery, a Zeiss-branded triple rear camera and Android 17 on day one. That last part is the detail worth pausing on. The V80 ships with OriginOS 7 out of the box. That makes it one of the first phones to ship in India on the new OS, rather than one waiting in an update queue.
It arrives soon after the V80 and its S-series sibling cleared Indian certification, and alongside the vivo S2 FE. The two make an odd pair. The S2 FE launches this week on Android 16 with OriginOS 6, a full OS generation behind its own stablemate.

Pricing and Availability
- 8GB + 128GB: Rs 62,999
- 8GB + 256GB: Rs 69,999
- 8GB + 512GB: Rs 79,999
- Colours: Horizon Blue, Stellar Black, Sunrise Anthem
Note that every tier sticks to 8GB of RAM. Paying Rs 17,000 over the base model buys storage only, with no memory increase at the top. Launch coverage did not include a sale date as of October 6, so on-sale timing is still open.
Specifications
The V80 leads on battery and camera rather than raw silicon. A 7,200mAh cell in a 7.79mm, 210g body is the headline engineering feat, and 90W charging keeps refill times short. The telephoto is the more interesting camera choice, since it is a 50MP sensor with 3x optical zoom and stabilisation. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is a solid mid-range part rather than a flagship chip, which is the tradeoff that funds the rest.

The 8MP ultrawide is the obvious weak point in an otherwise strong camera set. Vivo has put its sensor budget into the main and telephoto lenses. That is the right call for most buyers. It does mean the third camera exists to fill a spec line more than to be used. The battery and the day-one Android 17 are what the V80 is really selling.
