Verizon Raises Disney+ and Hulu Perk Prices From September 17

Verizon is raising the price of its Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ perks from 17 September 2026, according to a notice the carrier has posted on its own Disney Bundle support page. Three of the four perk tiers go up, along with the standalone Legacy Disney Bundle, and the increases apply to existing subscribers rather than only to new sign-ups.

What the Verizon Disney perk price increase actually costs

The notice, headed as a Disney price adjustment beginning 9/17/26, lists the new monthly rates in full:

  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ (With Ads) perk — from $10 to $12/month
  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ (Premium Upgrade Ad-Free) perk — from $20 to $23/month
  • For Movie Lovers on Simplicity — from $23 to $25/month
  • Non-perk Legacy Disney Bundle (Disney+ No Ads, Hulu With Ads, ESPN Select With Ads) — from $24.99 to $27.99/month

One tier is untouched: Verizon says the $15 Legacy Disney Bundle perk is not changing. If you are on that older plan, you now pay less than someone buying the ad-free perk today, and considerably less than someone on the non-perk legacy bundle.

Verizon frames the change as a pass-through of Disney’s own pricing. Its notice opens: “At Verizon, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best entertainment for the best price.” The carrier then says that as its partners at Disney invest in new content and adjust the rates of their services, it periodically needs to adjust its perk rates.

Why the increase matters more than the dollar figures suggest

A $2 rise on a $10 add-on is a 20% increase, and it is the cheapest tier taking the largest proportional hit — the same pattern that showed up when Amazon raised its device prices this week. On the ad-supported perk, that works out to $24 more a year for exactly the same three services.

The bigger issue is how carrier perks work. They are billed automatically alongside your line, so unlike a streaming subscription you manage directly, there is no separate app emailing you a renewal notice at the new price. The increase simply turns up on your Verizon bill in the September or October cycle. Elsewhere on the same page, Verizon still pitches the three-service bundle as a saving of $21.99 a month against buying the apps individually — a number that moves every time either side of that comparison does, and one worth re-checking against what Disney charges directly before assuming the perk is still the cheaper route. The same page also still advertises the ad-supported bundle to myPlan customers at $10 a month, the pre-increase figure, which is the kind of marketing copy that tends to lag a price change by a while.

What to do before 17 September

If you are paying for a Disney perk you rarely open, this is the moment to look at it rather than after the higher charge lands. Verizon’s support page documents cancelling a Disney Bundle through My Verizon, so the perk is not welded to your plan. It is also worth checking whether you are paying twice — the FAQ deals at length with customers who already had a Hulu subscription billed directly by Hulu, and it warns that no refunds are provided for subscription fees already paid.

Verizon has not said whether the increase touches any promotional or bundled pricing outside the four tiers listed, and no other perks were named in the notice.
