Timely, the alarm clock app, which was acquired by Google has received an update today.
The new version 1.3, brings in some visual changes, adapted for Android 5.0 including Colored options for Notifications, Status & Action bar, and Overview headers.
The alarm clock icon is back in the status bar, and will also display upcoming alarms in the notification bar. You can dismiss the alarm from the notification too.
The app now allows you to use your own sounds, so you can wake up to your favorite tune or clip.
If you are find yourself snoozing the alarm everyday to wake up late, you may be glad to know that Timely now has an option which allows you to enable a Challenge to Snooze. No more “lemme sleep for 5 more minutes”!
And last but not least, Timely has now been integrated with Google Now, so you can “set up an alarm” with the “Ok Google” hotword.

Note: Even though the app still has sections which says “Premium”, it is actually completely free. All features are fully functional, and the app is devoid of in-app purchases. A fact that you can confirm by visiting the Play store listing, it doesn’t have “offers in-app purchases” listed next to the install button.
