Swype drops the beta tag, goes live on Google Play for a launch price of $0.99

Nuance have launched the stable version of their keyboard, Swype after a beta period of three long years

Swype

The good news is you can finally get it from the Play Store, the bad news is it isn’t free. The price tag is not surprising considering Nuance took over Swype Inc for a 100 Million Dollars last year. But look on the bright side, the keyboard will work on Tablets & Phones. So you don’t have to buy it twice, and I think this line suggests they are taking a “Swype” at Swiftkey’s policy of selling two different versions.

Regarding how long the betas would work is unknown, but I am guessing that the OEM versions, i.e the ones you get with your device, should work without expiring.
