Just few hours back, we reported Xiaomi’s next budget phone Redmi 4 is spotted on Gfxbench revealing a snapdragon 625 powered  phone instead of Mediatek processor. Earlier leak showing the retail box did show the Mediatek Helio X20 processor powering the device, but now apart from Gfxbench listing, there are rumors floating on Weibo which suggest a Snapdragon 625 powered Redmi 4.

The latest rumors also point out that the launch may happen earlier than we ever thought of. As per rumors, Xiaomi may be launching the next budget smartphone as early as August 25, which is just two weeks away.

The rumor apart from suggesting the 25 August launch date, also suggest that it sports a 5 inch Full HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 625. In our view, Xiaomi may be working on two variants of Redmi 4, 1st prototype being powered by Mediatek CPU whereas the 2nd prototype may be powered by Snapdragon 625. This is usually the case which some of the earlier Xiaomi smartphones, when only Qualcomm CPU variants were launched in India, whereas China received the Mediatek CPUs.

As with any leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
