Samsung will reportedly launch its flagship phablet, the Note 7, in the first week of August. Earlier we reported that the device will make its debit in the 3rd week of August, per Evan Blass’ original tweet.

But the leakster later confirmed that it will be in the first week instead. He had also said that there will be one variant of the Note 7.

The South Korean company is skipping the Note 6 brand name, in favour of the Note 7 to keep it on par with its Galaxy S series flagship devices (the S7 and the S7 Edge). If the new rumour on Weibo is indeed true, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be the first phone to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. The device will be launched on August 2.

It is only said to be a slight improvement over the Snapdragon 820, but still it could be a good one. This may be the Snapdragon 823 chipset which is rumoured to be powering some ASUS Zenfone 3 variants, which are yet to make its debut.
