The Samsung Galaxy F42 5G has gone official in India. It appears to be a modified version of the Galaxy A22 5G that was launched earlier this year, in Europe.
The phone is equipped with a 6.6-inches Full HD+ IPS LCD Infinity-V display that supports 90Hz Refresh Rate, and has a pixel density of 352 PPI. The device runs on One UI 3.1 based on Android 11, and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz, with an ARM Mali G57 MC2 GPU. It has 6GB, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, and supports up to 1TB of expandable memory via a dedicated microSD card slot. The Galaxy F42 supports twelve 5G bands including N1, N3, N5, N7, N8, N20, N28, N66, N38, N40, N41 and N78, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports Dolby Atmos audio.
The triple camera array on the Galaxy F42 5G’s rear consists of a a 64MP primary lens, a 5MP ultra wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and an LED Flash. The selfie lens housed in the notch is an 8 megapixels snapper. The device is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 15W Fast Charging over a USB Type-C port. The phone weighs 203g and measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 9.0mm. The handset has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an accelerometer, a gyro sensor, a geomagnetic sensor and a proximity sensor.

Samsung Galaxy F42 5G price in India
Samsung has priced the Galaxy F42 5G at Rs. 20,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant, and at Rs. 22,999 for the 8GB+128GB model. The phone will be available in 2 colours: Matte Black and Matte Aqua, from October 3rd, exclusively at Flipkart, Samsung Online Store and select retail stores.
As part of the launch offer, Samsung is offering a discount of Rs. 3,000 on both models, meaning the 6GB/128GB will be available for Rs. 17,999, and the 8GB/128 version at Rs. 19,999, during the Big Billion Days sale on Flipkart.
