Redmi K50 Gaming Edition with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 120W Fast Charging launched in China

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition has been launched in China. Let’s find out what the flagship gaming device has to offer.

The K50 Gaming Edition sports a 6.67-inches Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz Refresh Rate. The screen supports HDR10+, 480Hz touch sampling rate, has a 5,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio, PWM Dimming, 10-bit, DCI-P3. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The phone has special trigger buttons on the side for gaming. The device runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12, is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm octa-core processor clocked @ 3.0GHz, with an Adreno 730 GPU, 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The handset has a Vapor Chamber to keep the temperatures low while gaming.

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition supports 5G and 4G LTE mobile networks, Wi-Fi 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS/QZSS/NavIC/Beidou/Galileo, and NFC. It is backed by a 4700 mAh battery that supports 120W Fast Charging via a USB Type-C port.

Redmi has fitted a 20MP Sony IMX 586 selfie camera on the front panel of the phone. The rear camera set up on the K50 Gaming Edition comprises a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, an 8MP Ultra-wide angle lens with a 120° FoV, a 2MP Macro lens, a Flicker Sensor, and an LED Flash.

Sensors on board the device include an Ultrasonic Distance Sensor, a 360° Ambient Light Sensor, an Acceleration Sensor , an Ambient Color Temperature Sensor, an Electronic Compass, a Gyroscope and an Infrared Remote Control. The phone weighs 210g, and measures 162.5 x 76.7 x 8.5mm.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition price

Redmi has priced the K50 Gaming Edition at RMB 3,299 (about $520) for the 8GB/128GB model, in China. The 12GB/128GB trim costs RMB 3,599 (around $567), while the 12GB/256GB variant carries a price tag of RMB 3,899 (about $615). There is a Mercedes AMG F1 limited edition of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition with 12GB/256GB and it costs RMB 4,199( approx $662).
