Oppo is expected to announce the successor to its R9 smartphone soon which may be dubbed as R9S. Going by rumors, it may be expected to be official on September 12 which is just next week. Oppo is yet to officially acknowledge this. Till today, we had no information on the hardware specifications of Oppo R9S though we already have seen some leaked real images of  the device.Today a new leak spotted on Weibo indicate some of the hardware specifications of the smartphone which is still not too specific such as the screen size, CPU or the battery capacity.

As per the leak, Oppo R9S may feature a bezel-less display and 6 GB of RAM. The leak doesn’t offer any details on processor or the display size or resolution. The smartphone may feature NFC and a UFS 2.0 storage. It is also expected to come with chip level image stabilization technology such as EIS. The leak also talks about support for Oppo Pay service thanks to NFC which may be similar to Samsung Pay but at the moment that doesn’t exist. The leak also indicates that it may come with Super VOOC charging technology which when charged for 5 minutes give talk time of 10 hours.

A variant of Oppo R9 passed TENAA with model name “R9km” and we thought it to be same as Oppo R9S, but later it turned out to be another variant of Oppo R9 which the company launched as R9 with JDI Displays in China. Oppo R9 sports a 5.5 inch full HD 1080p display powered by 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6755 processor with 4GB of RAM.

As we say with every leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
