Oppo R15 TVC confirm the iPhone X type notch and Dual camera

Oppo is set to announce two new flagship devices i.e. Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Plus, though we still have no confirmation of the official launch date from the company. But thanks to Oppo style of launching smartphones with loads of advertising blitz ahead of the launch, we already know how Oppo R15 will look like.

Two new TV commercials in China have surfaced on Oppo Official portal in China which reveals the designs of these two R15 devices. The TVC reveals that Oppo R15 will feature an iPhone X type of notch on the front display while dual camera module with almost same design as that of Oppo R11s can be seen with the dual camera module aligned horizontally at the top while the fingerprint sensor is present in the middle.

As can be seen from the official teaser image at the start of this post, the notch at the top is smaller than what we have seen in iPhone X, but there are minor bezels present at the bottom of the display. The bezels at sides are almost negligible. The TVC also suggests that R15 may be waterproof as the TVC shows the use inside swimming pool.

We are already witnessing the obsession by smartphone brands to copy the iPhone X notch and almost every new phone that is coming is featuring a notch. How popular this feature gets among consumers is still to be seen, though we have already seen that iPhone X users are not too happy about it as the consumer demand slows down for the same.

At the moment we do not have any idea about the hardware specifications of these devices, but rumours suggest that these devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series chipset under the hood running on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with Color OS 4.0 on top. Rumours also suggest some 3D sensing technology with support for facial recognition security, animated emojis and AI-assisted camera features.
