Opera for Android can now sell you a travel data plan. The browser lets you buy and activate an eSIM for 47 destinations without opening a second app. There is also a free 3GB trial, but only for users in 11 launch markets.

How the in-browser eSIM works
The feature runs on a partnership with Holiday.com, an eSIM and travel-connectivity provider named in Opera’s own announcement. You pick a destination inside the browser and buy the plan there. Opera’s announcement lists no prices. The app shows the per-country price in local currency before you pay.
The eSIM carries data only, and it does not replace your existing phone number. One eSIM can cover a multi-country trip, and you top it up per destination instead of reinstalling at every stop. 5G is used where the destination network supports it, and the next best available connection otherwise.
The data clock does not start when you pay. It starts the first time the eSIM connects to a network in the destination country. If you never connect, the plan expires one year after purchase or claim. After the trial, top-ups come in 3GB, 5GB and 10GB sizes.
The free trial is not global
The free 3GB, three-day trial is limited to users physically located in 11 markets. Those are the US, the UK, Germany, France, Canada, the UAE, Brazil, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Poland. Claiming it needs no credit card, no payment details and no email address. Users in those markets can then use the free data in any of the 47 destinations.
India is not on that list, and it is not among the 47 destinations either. Users in India can still buy an eSIM for any covered destination. They just cannot claim the free 3GB. Canada, Brazil and the UAE sit on the other side of the same split: trial markets, but not destinations you can buy an eSIM for.
