Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launched globally – here are their specs and prices

The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have been launched globally. Here is everything you need to know about the most awaited phones of 2022.

Google Pixel 7

The Pixel 7 sports a 6.3″ Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen has an Always-on Display, 1,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio, supports 24-bit, and HDR. The display has a pixel density of 416 PPI, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and supports 1400 nits brightness.

The Google Pixel 7 runs on Android 13 out of the box, the Mountain View company has promised to support it with 3 years of OS upgrades, and five years of security updates. The flagship smartphone is powered by an octa-core Google Tensor G2 processor, with a Titan M2 security chip. It has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The 10.8MP selfie lens on the screen has an f/2.2 aperture, a 92.8° FOV, and can record 4K videos at 30fps/60fps. Surprisingly, Google has enabled Face Unlock on the Pixel 7 series.

The main camera array on the Google Pixel 7 has 2 cameras, the primary sensor is a 50 megapixels lens with an f/1.85 aperture, 82° FOV, Laser detect autofocus (LDAF), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is assisted by a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens that has an f/2.22 aperture, a 114° FOV, and an LED Flash. The cameras are capable of recording videos at 4K resolution (at 30 fps/60 fps), 1080p (at 30 fps/60 fps).

Google has packed a 4,355 mAh battery in the Pixel 7, it supports 30W fast charging via a USB Type C 3.2 port, and wireless charging. In the audio department, the phone has Stereo speakers, 3 microphones, and supports Noise suppression. Unsurprisingly, it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity-wise, the Pixel 7 supports 5G, eSIM, Dual SIM cards, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, BEIDOU, and NAVIC. Sensors on the phone include a Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyrometer, Magnetometer, and a Barometer. The mobile is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. The phone measures 73.2 x 155.6 x 8.7 mm, and weighs 197g.

The Pixel 7 Pro has the same operating system, processor, security chip, and selfie camera as the regular model. The Pro version has a superior display which is 6.7-inches in size, it is a 2K AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and 1500 nits brightness. Like the normal version, the Pixel 7 Pro’s screen has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and supports Always-on Display.

The flagship mobile has 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, with 128/256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery. Google has equipped the Pixel 7 Pro with a 50 megapixels primary camera that has an f/1.85 aperture, an 82° FOV, and Laser Detect Auto Focus. The ultra-wide angle lens is identical to the regular versions, but the Pro model has an extra camera on the rear, a 48MP telephoto lens with an f/3.5 aperture, 5x optical zoom, 30x Super Res Zoom, and a 20.6° FOV. The Google Pixel 7 Pro weighs 212g, and measures 76.6 x 162.9 x 8.9 mm.
