Bitspin, the Swiss developers behind the popular alarm clock app Timely, have announced that their studio has been acquired by Google.

Timely Alarm Clock

This news has taken everyone by surprise. What could this mean for the app?

This is the message posted on Bitspin’s website.

We’re thrilled to announce that Bitspin is joining Google, where we’ll continue to do what we love: building great products that are delightful to use.

For new and existing users, Timely will continue to work as it always has. Thanks to everyone who has downloaded our app and provided feedback along the way; we truly appreciate all your support.
– The Bitspin Team

I am including a screenshot in case Google takes down the message and asks them to wait till they make an official announcement.

Bitspin announces Google Acquisition

Not only that, the app is now devoid of ads and In-app purchases. Yes it has gone completely free, no strings attached.

Perhaps Google will replace the existing Alarm Clock App found in Android with the  feature-rich and drop dead gorgeous Timely Alarm Clock.

Now there is no reason why you shouldn’t download Timely Alarm Clock for free from Google Play

If you find you still have ads or IAPs in the app, let us know in the comments below.
