Gemini Notebook can now show you a plan before it builds a Slide Deck or Video Overview. A new Review toggle lets you check that plan and give feedback first. Google says the feature is rolling out globally to all Gemini Notebook users over the coming week.

How the Gemini Notebook review flow works
Until now, a prompt went straight to a finished deck or video. The new flow adds a checkpoint in between. Two members of the Gemini Notebook team explained the change on Google’s Keyword blog. Viraj Doshi is a Senior Product Manager, and Shan Wang is a Senior UX Designer.
“Instead of jumping from an initial prompt straight to a final output, Gemini Notebook can now walk you through the creation flow in a quick process based directly on your sources.”
It starts in chat. Notebook suggests topics drawn from your sources, and you can steer the visual style and format.
Switch on the Review toggle and Notebook prepares a draft plan before rendering. For slides, that plan comes as outline notes. For videos, it comes as producer notes.
You then give feedback on the plan. Google’s examples include adding an executive summary at the beginning or swapping the order of a scene. When you’re happy, select Proceed to produce the final output.
If your prompt already names what you want, Notebook jumps straight to the review step.
You can still skip the review
The one-shot approach hasn’t gone away. In the studio panel, click the artifact you want and skip the review toggle. Notebook then generates it the way it did before.
Availability and usage limits
Google says the co-creation tools reach every Gemini Notebook user worldwide over the upcoming week. The announcement doesn’t mention any plan tier or price change.
One open question is usage. Since September 2, Gemini Notebook runs on a compute budget. Google’s post doesn’t say whether extra review passes count against it. If you’re near your limit, watch how fast the budget drains once you start using reviews.
