The Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 now cost more in India. Checked on Samsung India’s own buy pages on September 28, the Galaxy A56 8GB + 128GB model sells for ₹44,999. The Galaxy A36 8GB + 128GB model sells for ₹36,999. Gizmochina, which reported the increase, puts the previous prices at ₹42,999 and ₹33,999. It also describes this as the second rise on both phones.
One detail matters for how you read this. Samsung’s listing pages show an undiscounted MRP sitting above both the old and the new figures. Below it sits a lower live selling price. That selling price is what you actually pay, and it is the number that has gone up.

Two further configurations appear in Gizmochina’s report but were not among the ones we checked. Gizmochina lists the Galaxy A56 8GB + 256GB at ₹48,999 and the Galaxy A36 12GB + 256GB at ₹46,499.
Prices can lag across retailers. Gizmochina notes that Amazon and Flipkart may still show the older, lower figures for a while. If one of these phones was already on your list, check the big retailers before defaulting to Samsung’s own store.
Why this keeps happening to the A-series
Gizmochina attributes the increase to the ongoing memory and component supply crunch. Samsung has not publicly confirmed that reasoning. Treat it as the outlet’s explanation rather than an official one.
The outcome for buyers is simpler. These are the same phones with the same hardware they have always had. You are paying ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 more for them than you would have a short while ago. On Gizmochina’s account, that is on top of an earlier increase.
The pattern is becoming routine on this side of Samsung’s lineup. We saw it on the Galaxy A17 5G, which climbed ₹12,000 above its launch price. A launch price is increasingly a floor rather than a ceiling. That undermines the usual advice to wait for a discount. If a mid-range Samsung phone sits at a price you are happy with today, waiting is no longer the safe move it used to be.
