Galaxy A-Series Prices Go Up in the US: The A17 Has Now Risen Twice

Samsung has raised US prices on four Galaxy A-series phones, and one of them has now been hiked twice. The Galaxy A17 5G launched in January 2026 at $199 and sells for $269.99 today. That is more than 35% above its original price in the space of nine months. The A27, A37 and A57 have all gone up as well.

New Galaxy A-series US prices

We checked each model against Samsung’s own US buy pages on October 3. These are the current listed prices next to what each configuration cost before.

  • Galaxy A17 5G: $269.99, up from $249
  • Galaxy A27 5G: $379.99, up from $349
  • Galaxy A37 5G 128GB: $489.99, up from $449
  • Galaxy A37 5G 256GB: $609.99, up from $539
  • Galaxy A57 5G 128GB: $599.99, up from $549
  • Galaxy A57 5G 256GB: $679.99, up from $609

The two 256GB tiers took the biggest single hits. Both the A37 and the A57 gained about $70 at that capacity. The A17’s rise this round is smaller at roughly $21.

The A17 is still the model to watch

A $21 increase sounds minor on its own. The reason it matters is that it is the second one on this model, and the compounding is what hurts. A phone that opened at $199 in January now costs $269.99 in October.

The A17 exists to be the entry point into Samsung’s lineup. It gets bought by people shopping on a hard budget, or picking out a first phone for a family member. For that buyer, a 35% climb inside one model year is a genuine affordability problem, not a rounding adjustment.

Anyone who waited a few months hoping for a discount got the opposite outcome twice over. That is an unusual thing to tell a budget buyer, and it is worth saying plainly.

No explanation from Samsung

Nothing about these phones has changed. There is no new chip, no extra storage, no added feature attached to the higher prices. As of October 3, Samsung has not issued a statement explaining the increases.

Coverage has tied the moves to the memory and component shortages that have pushed device costs up for close to a year. That is the outlets’ reading of the situation rather than Samsung’s stated reason. The two are worth keeping apart. What is confirmed is the pricing itself, visible on Samsung’s own storefront.

This follows Samsung’s separate increase on the flagship line, which we covered when the Galaxy S26 prices went up in the US. Between the two rounds, Samsung’s US range now costs more at both the top and the bottom of the catalogue.

If you are shopping now, check carrier and retailer listings before buying direct. Older stock at the previous pricing may still be sitting on shelves, and that window usually closes fast.
