Remember the Nexus 7 tablets? They were delightful devices, which performed adequately, and sold like hot cakes thanks to their reasonable price tags.
But Google has not released one for the past two years. Will we ever see another ASUS Nexus 7 in the future?
The answer seems to be yes. In an interview with the Trusted Reviews blog, Johnny Shih, the chairman of ASUS, revealed that his company is indeed working on “a lot of projects” with Google.
This is what he said when questioned if a new Nexus from ASUS is possible:
“Actually, we have a lot of projects ongoing,” Shih tells us. “Please just stay tuned, you know, stay tuned.”
While that isn’t a clear cut answer by any means, it certainly does hint that the project could be a new Nexus 7, considering that Google has already partnered with LG and Huawei, for the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P respectively.
Although, it would be cool if Google did partner with ASUS for a Nexus phone, given that the Zenfone 2 has been a huge success.
