Apple has announced the Apple Home Collection, a range of smart home accessories built by LG and Schneider Electric. Prices run from $39.95 to $399.95 in the U.S., and availability begins in December. The lineup was unveiled at Apple’s October 13 event alongside the HomeView smart display.
The cameras come with a cost that is easy to miss. Apple says there is no separate camera subscription, which is true in a narrow sense. Saved camera history still requires a paid iCloud+ plan.

Apple Home Collection Prices and Availability
All prices are U.S. prices, with other listed markets noted in brackets.
- LG Video Doorbell Wired: $249.95
- LG Floodlight Cam: $399.95
- LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In: $299.95
- LG Indoor Cam Plug-In: $199.95 (U.S., Canada and UK)
- LG Smart Deadbolt Lock: $349.95 (U.S. and Canada)
- LG Smart Thermostat: $199.95 (U.S. and Canada)

- Schneider Home Smart Thermostat: $199.95 (U.S. and Canada)
- Schneider Home Room Sensor: $39.95 (U.S. and Canada)
Thermostat installs may also need one of these add-ons:
- LG C-Wire Power Adapter: $24.95
- Schneider Home C-Wire Power Adapter: $24.95
- Schneider Home Trim Plate: $14.95
Apple says availability starts in December, with some accessories following in early 2027. The products are sold through apple.com/store, the Apple Store app and Apple Store locations. Apple’s release lists no India or EU availability for this lineup.
Apple Retail also offers third-party installation from ADT in the U.S. starting this fall, for an extra charge. That confirms the service side of the earlier Apple-ADT rumor.
Camera History Needs a Paid iCloud+ Plan
Each camera gets 10 days of event video history stored in iCloud+. How many cameras you can cover depends on your plan:
- 50GB plan: one camera
- 200GB plan: up to five cameras
- 2TB plan: unlimited cameras
Apple Intelligence camera features also need a supported iCloud+ subscription. These include automatic video descriptions and natural-language search of recordings.
So there is no camera-branded subscription, but there is still a monthly bill. A home with six or more cameras needs the 2TB tier, and buyers should budget for it on top of the hardware.
An iPhone Is Required for Setup
Every accessory pairs over NFC, and Apple says that pairing requires an iPhone on the latest software. Setup is a single tap, and the devices are managed in the Apple Home app without a separate app or account.
“Apple Home Collection makes it easy to choose smart home accessories with confidence,” said Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering.
Apple says the thermostats, sensors and lock are Matter compatible, and that every device supports Thread. The release does not describe Android or Google Home support beyond that Matter compatibility. Android-only households should treat these as iPhone accessories.
On privacy, Apple claims that LG Electronics, Schneider Electric and Apple cannot read users’ Home app data. That is Apple’s statement, not something androidpure has verified.
What Each Device Does
- Cameras and doorbell: up to 2.5K video on the LG Video Doorbell and LG indoor and outdoor cameras
- LG Floodlight Cam: dual floodlights
- LG Indoor Cam: tilts to a privacy position when someone is home, per Apple and LG
- LG Smart Deadbolt Lock: Ultra Wideband unlock as you approach with a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch
- Thermostats and sensors: LG and Schneider Home models, Matter compatible
- Connectivity: Thread on every device
The automatic unlock was first spotted in an earlier Apple and LG leak, and it is now official.
