The fifth and final developer preview of Android 7.0 Nougat was released last night, and it comes with a cool Easter Egg. If you like cats, you are going to love this.
Head to the Settings Screen, and tap a few times on the tab which says Android 7.0.
You will get the N logo, which represents Nougat. Now, tap and hold on the large N. You will see a small cat emoji (like the one in Hangouts/Gmail).
Tap and hold on N once more, to see a No Entry road sign emoji.
Once you see that, pull down the notifications panel, and you should see a new option which says “Android Easter Egg ???”, at the bottom of the Quick Settings panel.
Drag it to the Quick Settings section just above. Now, swipe from right to left to view the next page of the panel. You will see a new option called “Empty Dish”.
Tap on it and it will display four icons: “Bits, Fish, Chicken, Treats”. Tap one to fill the dish with the selected food, to attract a cat. This does seem to be inspired by the popular cat collecting game, Neko Atsume.
This will change the icon to show the food you selected.
You will have to wait for a while for a cat to show up. When that happens you will get a notification saying “A cat is here”, tapping on which will display a cat’s image.
