Samsung Galaxy S5 unveiled : 2.5GHz Quad-Core, 5.1-inch Display, Fingerprint scanner, 16MP Camera

As expected, Samsung has unveiled its next flagship device i.e Samsung Galaxy S5 at its “UNPACKED 2014 Episode 1” event at Mobile World Congress 2014 at Barcelona. Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and is powered by 2.5GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB of RAM. The flagship device is running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat along with Samsung’s customary TouchWiz interface.

Samsung Galaxy S5In terms of Camera, the device features a 16MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. It comes with an  internal memory of 16/32GB along with support for microSD cards upto 64 GB. In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac HT80, MIMO(2×2), Bluetooth 4.0 BLE / ANT+, USB 3.0, NFC and IR Remote.

The device is powered by a whopping 2800mAh battery giving you a  Standby time of 390 hrs or Talk time of 21 hrs.

Apart from these, Galaxy S5 comes with some great additional features such as:

  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Heart rate sensor
  • IP67 Dust and water Resistant

The device will be available globally through Samsung’s retail channels, e-commerce and carriers in April.We are yet to hear about the device pricing and will update you as and when we hear about it.
