Fixing a damaged inner display on the iPhone Duo costs $999 at Apple in the US if you don’t have AppleCare+. With AppleCare+, Apple lists the same repair at $99.
Apple has now published its US repair estimates for the iPhone Duo. Without AppleCare+, they range from $49 for cover layer damage to $1,499 for other damage.

These are Apple’s US out-of-warranty estimates for the iPhone Duo:
- Cover layer: $49
- Back glass: $199
- Battery service: $229
- Rear camera: $229
- Outer display: $379
- Outer display and back glass: $509
- Inner display: $999

Apple’s repair page adds a caveat: “Estimated fees are for out-of-warranty service from Apple and may be subject to tax.” Apple also says it has to inspect a device before it can give a personalized estimate.

iPhone Duo repair fees with AppleCare+
Apple’s data lists these fees for owners with AppleCare+:
- Battery service: $0
- Cover layer: $19
- Back glass: $29
- Outer display: $29
- Inner display: $99
- Other accidental damage: $99
- Theft or loss: $149
MacRumors says the free battery service applies once capacity drops below 80%. Apple’s own data labels the line only as battery service.
The inner display is the big gap
The inner display is where the two lists split furthest apart. Without AppleCare+, one damaged inner screen costs $900 more than the AppleCare+ figure.
Without coverage, every accidental repair falls fully on the owner. Whether AppleCare+ pays off depends on what the plan costs and how likely you are to damage the phone. Weigh those against the numbers above, not the repair price alone.
The battery line is worth a look too. Apple charges $229 for iPhone Duo battery service, compared with $129 for an iPhone 18 Pro battery.
What these estimates don’t cover
These figures are Apple’s US estimates only. Pricing in India, Europe and other markets isn’t covered here. Tax may apply, and Apple may add a shipping fee if it needs to ship your device.
Apple Authorized Service Providers can set their own fees. A quote from one of those shops may differ from Apple’s estimate.
