Dell’s XPS Googlebook now starts at $999, which is $200 below the $1,199 figure Dell and Google disclosed at launch. The Google Store currently lists that $999 starting price, with 12-month financing shown at $83.25 a month. Our own September 21 Googlebook launch post carried the original $1,199 figure, so treat this as the corrected number.

Pricing and Availability
The important detail is which machine the lower price buys. Android Authority reports that $999 covers the base configuration only. Stepping up to more memory and storage costs considerably more.
- $999 — Snapdragon X Elite, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage
- $1,799 — 32GB RAM, 1TB storage
Those are separate SKUs, not one flexible listing. An $800 gap between two configurations of the same laptop is steep, so check carefully what you are adding to the cart. The XPS Googlebook is sold through Best Buy and the Google Store, with Dell’s own direct sales reported to follow later in October.
Specifications
The hardware on offer is the same machine Dell showed in September. It is a thin, premium-feeling 13-inch laptop built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite.
- Display: 13.4-inch 2.5K InfinityEdge touchscreen, 30-120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits, 100% DCI-P3 coverage
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite
- Memory and storage: 16GB / 512GB at $999, or 32GB / 1TB at $1,799
- Build: machined aluminium chassis, 12.7mm thick, 2.2 lbs
A pattern across Googlebook launches
Dell is not the only partner adjusting downward. Lenovo’s Googlebook 15 also landed $200 under the price Google originally disclosed for it. Two partners undercutting the announced figures within weeks suggests the launch pricing was set optimistically.
For buyers, the net effect is straightforward. A Snapdragon X Elite Googlebook with 16GB of memory and a 2.5K 120Hz panel is far easier to recommend at $999 than at $1,199. Just do not read the $999 headline as covering the 32GB model.
