Samsung Galaxy A08 Leaks in Full via UAE Retailer Listing

A UAE retailer has listed the Samsung Galaxy A08 ahead of any official announcement, giving the first confirmed look at its specs and pricing. Virgin Megastore in the UAE has the phone up at AED 625 (about $170), marked down from AED 659 ($179), which puts a real number on a device Samsung hasn’t confirmed yet.

Specs from the listing

The retailer listing describes a budget phone that barely moves the needle from its predecessor. It carries a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display at 720×1600 resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core chip at 2.2GHz. Camera duties go to a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor and an 8MP front camera. The listing shows two memory configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, both expandable.

  • Display: 6.7-inch PLS LCD, 720×1600, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G99, octa-core, 2.2GHz
  • Cameras: 50MP main + 2MP depth (rear), 8MP (front)
  • RAM/Storage: 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB, expandable
  • Battery: 6,000mAh with 25W fast charging
  • Build: IP64 dust and splash resistance, dual-SIM, 8mm thick
  • Colors: Navy Blue, Silver, Green

Barely an upgrade over the A07

Compared to the Galaxy A07, which launched in August 2025, the only meaningful change appears to be battery size, up 20% to 6,000mAh. Everything else, from the chipset to the display resolution to the camera setup, looks carried over unchanged. For a phone in this price bracket, a bigger battery is a genuinely useful upgrade for the kind of buyer who wants a phone that lasts a full day without much else changing, but it does mean anyone expecting a broader refresh will be disappointed.

Availability

The listing only confirms UAE pricing and availability for now. Samsung’s budget A-series phones typically launch in multiple regions within weeks of each other, so an India or wider global rollout is likely to follow, but nothing is confirmed yet. Treat the AED 625 price as a UAE-specific data point rather than a global one until Samsung makes its own announcement.
