Galaxy S27 Charging Speeds Leak via 3C: Still 25W and 45W

The Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ have cleared China’s 3C compulsory certification, and the paperwork points to charging speeds that have not moved. The listings, dated 1 September, put the base Galaxy S27 at 25W and the Galaxy S27+ at 45W. Both figures match the Galaxy S26 and S26+ exactly. Samsung has confirmed nothing about the S27 series, so treat this as a certification leak rather than a spec sheet.

What the Galaxy S27 3C listing shows

Two model numbers turned up in the database, SM-S9520 for the Galaxy S27 and SM-S9560 for the Galaxy S27+. The listings were surfaced by tipster @ZionsAnvin.

  • Galaxy S27 (SM-S9520): 9.0V at 2.77A, which works out to 25W wired charging
  • Galaxy S27+ (SM-S9560): 15.0V at 3.0A, which works out to 45W wired charging
  • In the box: no charger, consistent with Samsung’s recent flagships

One caveat on the numbers. Gizmochina’s write-up puts the base model at 27W, but SamMobile and IT之家 both read the same listing as 25W, and Gizmochina’s own next paragraph refers to the standard model retaining 25W. We have gone with 25W.

IT之家 adds that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra had not appeared in the 3C database at the time of its report. Rumours put the Pro at 45W and the Ultra at 60W, but neither has a certification behind it yet. androidpure has covered the Galaxy S27 Pro renders separately.

Four years of the same charging speed

This is the part worth sitting with. SamMobile notes that Samsung has used the same charging speeds on its base and Plus Galaxy S models for the past four years. The Galaxy S26 Ultra did get a charging bump. The S26 and S26+ did not, and on this evidence the S27 and S27+ will not either.

Samsung’s usual defence is battery longevity, and there is a real engineering argument there. It is harder to accept when the same company sells the Ultra at higher wattage, and when phones costing a third of the S27’s likely price charge two or three times faster. If you buy the base or Plus model, you are paying flagship money for a charging experience Samsung settled on in 2022. The absent charger in the box compounds it, since the cost of getting the advertised speed lands on you.

Charging speed is also the sort of spec that quietly justifies a slimmer battery. Nothing in this certification says that is happening, and we are not going to claim it does. But it is the number to check when the full spec sheet lands.

When the Galaxy S27 might launch

3C certification usually arrives some months before a Samsung flagship goes on sale, and a January 2027 unveiling is the working assumption in most of the reporting. Samsung has announced no date.
