Galaxy S27 Ultra Battery Tipped at 5,700mAh in New Leak

Rumor: The Galaxy S27 Ultra battery looks set for the biggest capacity jump Samsung’s flagship line has seen in years. Dutch site GalaxyClub, which has a long record of surfacing Samsung battery figures ahead of launch, reports that the S27 Ultra will carry a 5,534mAh rated cell — the number that typically gets marketed as around 5,700mAh, and possibly 5,800mAh. Nothing here is confirmed by Samsung.

What the Galaxy S27 battery leak claims

GalaxyClub gives figures for two of the four models expected in the range:

  • Galaxy S27 Ultra: 5,534mAh rated capacity, expected to be advertised as roughly 5,700mAh typical, with GalaxyClub saying 5,800mAh is possible
  • Galaxy S27 Pro: 5,087mAh rated capacity, expected to be advertised as roughly 5,200mAh typical

Rated capacity is the conservative minimum a cell is guaranteed to deliver; typical capacity is the higher average figure that ends up on the spec sheet. The gap between the two is normal, which is why leaked certification-style numbers usually read lower than the eventual marketing claim.

GalaxyClub does not name where the information came from, saying only that it comes from information the site reviewed. That makes this a single-source leak — the other outlets carrying it today are all citing GalaxyClub rather than adding independent confirmation. Notebookcheck, one of the outlets carrying it, has already published a slightly different S27 Pro rated figure of 5,028mAh, which is a good reason to treat the exact digits as provisional.

Why 5,700mAh would be a real change for the Ultra

Samsung has been stuck at 5,000mAh on its Ultra flagship for a long stretch, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra. If the S27 Ultra ships at roughly 5,700mAh typical, that is about a 14 percent increase — the sort of jump that generally only comes from a change in cell chemistry rather than from finding spare millimetres inside the chassis. Silicon-carbon cells, which pack more capacity into the same volume, are the widely assumed explanation, though the leak itself does not say so.

Context matters, though. A 5,700mAh flagship in 2027 would still sit behind Chinese rivals that already ship 7,000mAh-plus batteries today, and capacity alone does not decide endurance — display efficiency, modem behaviour and how aggressively One UI manages background work all move the needle as much as raw mAh. Samsung has also historically been more conservative on charging speed than on capacity, and this leak says nothing about wattage.

How much to trust this

Treat it as an early, single-source data point. The Galaxy S27 series is not expected until 2027, hardware specifications routinely shift between now and mass production, and battery figures in particular tend to firm up only once devices reach certification databases in multiple regions. It does line up directionally with earlier Galaxy S27 camera specifications that leaked earlier this month, which pointed to the same four-model S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra structure.

If the numbers hold, the more interesting question is what Samsung charges for the upgrade. A bigger battery is the single most requested change on every Galaxy flagship thread, and it is also the kind of improvement that has a habit of arriving alongside a price increase.
