The update is still based on Android 11, here’s what we could gather from the official announcement.

OxygenOS 11.0.4.1 Update – release notes

The update brings the October Security Patch from Google’s Android Security Bulletin. The change log for the firmware says that the stability of the system has been improved. OnePlus has fixed an issue that was causing delays when the incoming calls would appear.

The version number of the OxygenOS 11.0.4.1 Update for the OnePlus 7 is 11.0.4.1GM57BA in Europe, and 11.0.4.1.GM57AA for the Global variants. The OnePlus 7 Pro’s firmware number is 11.0.4.1GM21BA in Europe, while the global model gets 11.0.4.1.GM21AA. It is unclear when the update will be released in India.

The OnePlus 7T has been updated to 11.0.4.1.HD65BA in Europe, while the Indian variant and Global models are receiving 11.0.4.1.HD65AA. Likewise, India and the Rest of the World get the 11.0.4.1.HD01AA firmware, while the European version of the OnePlus 7T Pro is being updated to 11.0.4.1HD01BA.

OnePlus says that the update is currently being rolled out in phases, and that some users will be receiving the OTA notification at first. The company wants to ensure that there are no critical bugs in the OS, before it begins seeding the update on a wider scale to all users this week. Users at the OnePlus forums are reporting that they have received the firmware update on their phones, and that it is about 90MB in size, to download.

The Chinese OEM is expected to update the OnePlus 7 series to Android 12, along with the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 9 series. The new firmware drops tradition of the near-stock Android that OnePlus was known for. Instead, the company is set to use a new merged OS based on OxygenOS and ColorOS from OPPO.
