Oppo has been teasing their upcoming devices on social media suggesting an imminent launch of the next generation F series as Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro. Out of these two devices, we have seen teasers of the Oppo F9 Pro variant from the official social media channels in India, while the standard variant Oppo F9 is teased by others, suggesting that only the Pro variant will be launched in India initially while the standard variant will be launched in other countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam etc.

A new teaser gives us the official launch date of Oppo F9 on August 15 in Vietnam which is just two weeks away. The teaser also includes the VOOC charging support feature indicating support for the same, letting you use the device for 2 hours of talk time just by charging it for 5 minutes.

Update

Oppo has released some official Press Renders of Oppo F9 Pro revealing the high screen to body ratio of the device with water drop screen. Another image reveals that Oppo F9 Pro comes with a 25MP front shooter with sensor HDR.

Rumours indicate that Oppo F9 features a 6.3-inch IPS LCD 19.5:9 waterdrop FHD+ display (1080 x 2280 pixels) with Gorilla Glass protection with a screen to body ratio of 90.8 %, powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset along with 6GB of RAM. In terms of camera, it sports dual 16MP sensors with LED flash on the rear with 25MP front-shooter for selfies & video calls.  The OPPO F9 Pro will come with 128GB storage, expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. Connectivity options include dual-SIM and 4G VoLTE. It is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with the fast charging support.

At the moment, not much is known about the hardware specifications of Oppo F9, though you can safely assume it to come with a tone down hardware compared to the Pro Variant. We have already seen the official teaser/render of the device in Red colour, revealing the rear panel with dual camera and fingerprint sensor just like Oppo R15.
