Xiaomi Mi Max 3 to officially launch on July 19 in China

After numerous leaks and rumors, we finally have the official launch date of Xiaomi Mi Max 3. As per the official announcement, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will be unveiled at a launch event in China on July 19. The announcement comes from the official Weibo handle of the company in China and also on Twitter.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will be the successor of existing Mi Max 2 that was launched last year in this same month and features the biggest display among all Xiaomi Smartphones. This Max series of devices are targeted towards consumers looking for a tablet like display having a big battery but with smaller form factor compared to any tablet.

Thanks to numerous rumors & leaks and a listing on Chinese certification agency TENAA, we already have a fair idea of the hardware specifications & design of the device. Based on these leaks & rumors, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a 6.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio screen with the resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core SoC (Should be Snapdragon 636) with up to 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) based operating system. In terms of camera, it features a dual camera module with 12MP main rear camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, along with a secondary rear camera with AI portraits.

The phone is said to feature a metal body with the fingerprint sensor on the back and a 5400mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 using the bundled 18W charger.

At the moment, we do not have any clue on the pricing of the device, but you can safely assume it to priced like Xiaomi Mi Max 2 as a mid-range smartphone. Mi Max 2 was priced at  1,699 yuan (~$250 or Rs. 17,000) for the 64 GB variant and 1,999 yuan (~$290 or Rs. 20,000) for the 128 GB variant at the time of the launch in China. In India, Mi Max 2 was priced at Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB RAM variant.
