EUI 5.8 OTA update removes call record option from LeEco Le 2, could be re-added in the next OTA

Earlier this week, we reported about the EUI 5.8 OTA update for the LeEco Le 2. We have been testing it on a review unit, and today we came across feature which is missing in the firmware.

Le Eco 2 Call Record

The EUI 5.8 OTA update has removed the ability to record calls.

As you can see from our screenshot of the dialer from the LeEco Le 2, there is no option to record the call. In fact, the buttons have been rearranged from the previous update too.

This comes as a huge surprise, considering that this was not mentioned in the change-log for the update. We decided to dig deeper for more information and indeed found that it has been removed, and reported at the company’s forums. However, it could be arriving with the next OTA update, as mentioned by one of the beta testers for the EUI operating system.

For now, if you wish to use call record on your LeEco Le 2, we advise sticking to EUI 5.6, which is the version prior to the new update.
