OnePlus is rolling out a firmware update for its 2016 flagship phone, the OnePlus 3. The Oxygen OS 3.2.0 OTA Update brings in several fixes for the device, which has been criticized widely, for under performing, despite its top of the line hardware specifications.

OnePlus 3 Oxygen 3.2.0 update

One of the most reported issues, was that the OnePlus 3 could not store many apps in its memory, despite having 6GB of RAM. So, everytime you try to multitask, the phone would instead reload the app, instead of picking up where you left it.

This was reportedly done to preserve the battery life of the phone, the company’s outspoken CEO Carl Pei, revealed in an extensive rant on Reddit. Users were far from happy to hear this, and instead resorted to root the device, and edit the Build.Prop to manually increase the number of apps, which the phone saved in its RAM.

The Oxygen OS 3.2.0 update brings in improved RAM management, according to some screenshots on the company’s forums. Another change that the firmware update fixes is the display’s color quality, which some websites alleged were really poor. The new update adds an sRGB mode, which can be found in the developer options.

Here is a full change log of the OnePlus3Oxygen_16_1607012342 System Update:

  • Enabled sRGB mode in developer options
  • Improved RAM management
  • Improved GPS performance
  • Enhanced audio playback quality
  • Updated custom icon packs
  • Fixed some issues with notifications
  • Improved camera quality/functionality
  • Fixed some issues in Gallery
  • Latest Google security patches
  • Fixed bugs in Clock/Music apps
