Gionee India has announced that it will be updating the mid range phone, the Marathon M2 to Android KitKat.

Gionee Marathon M2 Android KitKat Update

The Gionee M2 was launched earlier this year with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2, and skips the 4.3 update to get a taste of chocolaty goodness.

The M2 is the 5th phone from the company to get Android KitKat 4.4.2, after the CTRL V5, Elife S5.5, Elife E7 Mini, Pioneer P4. The phone has gained a large user base, thanks to it’s impressive features such as 1GB RAM, a 5″ Display, an 8 Megapixel shooter and a massive 4200 mAh battery.

The Gionee M2 will receive the Android KitKat 4.4.2 update on September 5th.

The company has also said they will be updating the Elife E3 to KitKat as well, but a date has not been announced for it yet.
