ASUS india has just released an updated version of the existing 7-inch ASUS Fonepad 7 voice-calling tablet in India. Fonepad 7 is powered by an Intel Intel Clover Trail Plus Z2560 dual-core (1.6GHz) Atom processor with Hyper-Threading technology running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on it. It comes with a 7 inch IPS (In-Plane Switching) display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 with wide viewing angles capability. In terms of speakers, it comes with dual-front speakers with ASUS SonicMaster audio technology.
This device was initially announced at IFA 2013, Berlin in September. For those are unfamiliar with ASUS, it’s the same company that built the Nexus 7 devices for Google.
In terms of camera, it comes with a 1.2 MP front facing camera and 5 MP auto focus rear camera with a 100 continuous-shot ‘burst’ mode and 1080p Full HD video recording. Device is powered by a 3950mAh battery providing up to 28 hours of 3G talk time, 35 days of standby time and up to 10 hours of video playback.
It is just 10.5mm thick and 340g in weight making it light enough and portable.

Just like other manufacturers, the device comes with an a customized user interface from ASUS that tries to integrates social media with latest social media updates from contact list or incoming call notifications. It also comes with 5GB of lifetime ASUS WebStorage which also provides a full Microsoft Office experience on the move.
The SuperNote app lets users draft notes and can even add images, videos, and voice memos to create multimedia notes. The Floating App also helps users multi-task by giving them the option to open up to six apps simultaneously onscreen.
Availability and Pricing
The device is priced at an MRP of Rs. 17,499 and will be available starting November 2013.
