Mikey Shorts, the platformer from Noodlecake drops the price tag to go free

A couple of weeks ago, Noodlecake Games released the action platformer Random Heroes 2, and made it’s predecessor free, to promote the sequel.

They are doing it again, by making Mikey Shorts free to attract gamers to their premium platformer in the series, Mikey Hooks.

Mikey Shorts was released in February this year, while Mikey Hooks came out in April. Both games were hugely successful on iOS, before they made their way on to the Android platform.

Wondering why Noodlecake made this game free?

If the new ad/video supported version of the game is downloaded enough, the developer of the game, Beaver Tap Games will earn more than what they had been when it was a premium game. So this is a win-win situation for the gamers and the developer. They hope that making the game free, will serve as a demo or an ad for the sequel. This is also expected to help the development of a third game in the Mikey series, Mikey Boots, which is already in the works.

Check out both games, and remember, even downloading the free game helps the developer.
